Continuing in the theme from last week, a few more ideas about leading teams. One of the most important things I think about is how to get out of the way so they can succeed. Here’s a few ideas.

Tip 1. Create opportunities for team members to take risks – and recognize success and support them and have their back if things don’t go as planned.

Tip 2: Remember your shoe size is bigger than you think. When you say things, it has extra weight because you are the leader. Your praise and or critique carries more weight than that from a peer. Before providing critical feedback or changes, ask if it is worth it or needed.

Tip 3. Don’t solve problems. At least not until you give team members a chance to solve them first. Resist the temptation to offer solutions until they have a chance.

Have a great week,

Julie
