LEAD BOLDLY: What if you just stop?

I have been feeling overwhelmed. Too much to do. Too many life things. Just too much. In the old days, I’d use the long weekend to catch up. Not anymore.

It may be that I do catch up but not before there is some unscheduled time. And not before I do schedule me things – art making, a massage, a quiet dinner – something to refuel. 

This time, I’ve arranged to work on a couple of big messy paintings at a school near me. I will tarp the music room, blast some toons and make big messy marks with paint. Then I’ll see what decide to do. And yes, I’ll share the results.

What I know about this process and rest is that it will clear my head. I’ll come back refreshed and ready. Some of the weight will leave my shoulders. Some things will get dropped off the list. And all will be well. In fact, even better than if I spent the time scrambling to check things off.
