LEAD BOLDLY: How Many Stops on the Dial?

by Julie Jakopic  - August 14, 2025

So many people see everything as a choice between opposites. Things are great or terrible.  If something is going well it is amazing but if you find fault with any part of a project or a meeting, then it is a terrible failure.

In a world of constant change, this is a tough order. One that leaves you, and those you lead, ricocheting between fear and elation with nowhere to land or space to trust.

Instead, it takes flexibility to constantly adapt. To find your internal stability no matter what is happening outside.

And that means more stops between fabulous and failing.

  • That means breaking problems and assessments into smaller pieces
  • That means moving from “yes but” to “yes and”
  • That means considering there is a third, or fourth, or 27th option or perspective

How many stops on your dial? How do you manage complexity? Reply and let me know. I’d love to hear.

Best,

Julie

PS: In the midst of the chaos, I have been walking and listening to podcasts. Right now my favs are The Good Life Project and Family Secrets.  Any recommendations on others – what are you listening to?
