Last week I saw this great recipe from the New York Times for pasta with a hummus based sauce. It sounded great. It read great. It tasted “meh.”
I had made enough for two dinners. I ate one. It was tolerable.
Then I went to clean up the kitchen. What to do with that other portion? For most of my life, I’d have saved it and eaten it. But this time? I tossed it. I am a better cook. I don’t need to eat “meh.”
It made me think about my business. Some things get great results. Most don’t. How many “meh” things I am I holding on to at work. Still doing. Still trying to fix, when the right thing to do is move on?
How about you?
Julie
PS. I’ve also been thinking a lot about personal resilience with all the chaos around us. I thought you might find this useful.
