It doesn’t seem to matter how much I teach other people to focus on what they want, and not how they’re going to get there, I keep needing to re-learn it. Too often I am committed to how I’m trying to do something and get stuck on how I’m doing it instead of what I’m trying to achieve. Sometimes it’s choosing to sit stressed in traffic instead of take another route, or make something else for dinner because I’m missing a key ingredient, and sometimes I do it in my business. Creating the Women Who Lead event was one way of changing up the “how,” and there’s more to come. The goal of this newsletter is that you have a life you love and are able to lead well, build the organizations you live in, whether that’s your community and family or your work. Keep your eyes here for new things. And feel free to suggest some. One of the things I want to add to this newsletter is something about what I’m learning. For today, I have been reading my friend, Eva Medilek’s book,The Intimacy of Race, about how can we build more inclusive workplaces and communities. Eva will also be joining us on zoom on March 20th at 7pm, when we will be celebrating the achievements of the Women Who Lead attendees and having some fun, as well as hearing from Stephana Johnson, host of the Lead Stronger Longer Podcast who will share about how leaders can prioritize 360 well-being to manage challenges with ease, and have sustainable energy for both work and personal life. Please just reply to this email to receive the calendar invite and the link to attend. Have a great week, Julie |
