Yeah, I know. I’m usually positive. And in the long run I am. But today it’s tough and unfortunately, it’s going to get much worse before it gets better.
Half of you are trying to support staff you have furloughed and save your businesses. The other half, are trying to serve people with fewer staff, and often remotely. Normal as we knew it is gone.
And right now, most of us are too busy figuring out basics, like paying bills and getting supplies, to deal with the grief of what we’ve lost and may lose.
Just like in a weather disaster, our first focus is and should be safety and responding to immediate needs.
For now, take care of yourself in basic ways. In addition to our new super clean homes and physical distancing, do your best to get rest, drink lots of water, and eat healthy.
Yup, I know the quarantine snacks are likely the first to go. Chips. Whole pints of ice cream. But hopefully you also stocked up on veggies and protein. Because you can’t take care of anyone if you aren’t ok.
The next phase will be one of recovery- assessing the damage, adapting strategy, and planning the future. We’ll be here to help then.
In the meantime, I’ll share tools to help you on the journey, like those below. And be available to support you with crisis decision making about communication, remote supervision, and building your leadership bench.
Just schedule a call here. I’m also on zoom every Monday at noon. Want to join us on zoom? Just hit reply to this email and I’ll send you the link.
Take care of yourself. Ultimately, we will be ok.
Julie
