LEAD BOLDLY: Life, Death, Love, and Work

by Julie Jakopic  - January 18, 2024

Heavy-ish I know but on my mind this week.

Last week, an amazing teacher here in Alexandria, died at the high school where he taught. He had been teaching longer than I have been alive.

So there has been lots of discussion of my friends who were or had children who were his students.

There has been a lot of discussion about what this means from “I am not dying at work” to “He died in the place he loved, doing what he loved.”

And it has had me thinking. Like him, I want to be doing what I love til the last day. And I have spent a lot of time figuring out what that is. It’s about helping people helping people, making art, and spending time with those I love. I am a spoiled brat because most of the time I am doing at least one of those things.

What do you love most? Are you spending your time doing it? Are you living a life you love?

If not, let’s talk. Maybe I can help or maybe I know someone who can.

One idea for some of you, would be to join us at Women Who Lead.

Wishing you a life that you love and are proud of!
